Can anyone out there give me the test procedure for an EGR valve position sensor. This is actually on a '92 Ford Taurus GL 3.8 V6, but I seem to get no response on the car forum. This is a remotely mounted VPS with a three wire plug. It has one vacuum line coming off the EGR to the sensor. I find some ohms readings of 5500 max. and 100 min., but do not know exactly how to check this. Any help would be appreciated.
Try every possible combination, if you don't get the correct reading between any two then it is bad. You could take the multi-meter into the parts store and check a new one to see what the readings are.
Thanks for the help. I think I will buy a VPS and take some readings off of it and compare them to the one on the car. As long as I don't put it on I can take back.
