I occasionally get a clunk in the front end when turning, like today I got it once when pulling into a spot at the mall, but not for the rest of the day.It doesnt happen all the time, the front manual hubs were not locked.Where should I check first?
I've had the same problem with my 95 model. I took it back to the dealer right after I first noticed it and had the front end gone through from a guy who knew his stuff on front ends. He couldn't find anything wrong with the truch so I just drove it. The truck has over 200K on it now and still has the (CLUNK) from time to time. The clunk in mine was more like a pop to me but never has caused any problems.
I have the same problem and finally after joining this forum I found its a very common. Its the a/c door slaming shut just after start up.Its posted somewhere else in these posts if you dig far enough like I did and they explain the problem in detail. After I found out its common and it can't be fixed I don't worry about it any more. The only 2 threads I've read are "Diesel" and "Super Duty" so if you want to find it start looking there.
After I posted and went back and looked at your original problem your clunk is while driving not starting up. SORRY my reply above probably won't help your clunk.
Do you have a 4X4 or not ???????? the other anwser is I get a clunk from the brake calipers that have not had new (holder) for lack of words replaced when brakes were done. they clunk till they are replaced.
