I searched and came up with zilch.
My question is what to do about the rear wiper that doesn't wipe well. It appears to have no tension on the blade to contact window with.
Any suggestions?
I did the same thing that 99Xplr did. It took a few tries to get it right and after a few automatic car washes it needed a 2nd adjustment-but it works well just play with it(the arm that is)
i have 95 xlt,had same prob, had a lip/nub on back of wiper arm blocking full blade pivot, tried bending arm,arm didnt clear window handel,so i bent the arm back, cut off nub/lip off arm with a jigsaw, got a little tighter spring from the hardware store, put it on myself, works great now! you will need to take off wiper blade & arm to do the fix, good luck.
There is a service bulletin for the rear wiper. The number is 15406. I had my 99' in for this although it still isn't fixed....... bending the blade may be a good alternative...
Had to remove inside panal and bend mounting bracket to make wiper shaft perpendicular to the window through entire sweep. The bracket is flimsy and rubber mounted. If you stand behind vehicle and look at the shaft it is probably angled down and to the left. With wiper running, push the shaft up and a little to the right and see if it makes fuller contact with the glass. Too much tension on the arm just made mine hang up in the gap between the glass and the door panel. One trip through the car wash can screw it up again!
