Difference in C8AE-H to C8AEH

Can some one tell me the difference in these two set of heads I have. The casting number on one is C8AE-H and has 2.04 intake and 1.65 exhaust vavles. The other heads casting number is C8AEH, which has 2.08 intake and 1.65 exhaust valves. I was told the that both heads have come of of galaxy's but one has a hyphen in it and the other doesn't. Can anyone tell me what is the difference. Another thing the C8AEH heads have never been messed with still all original. Don't know what engines where in the galaxys'.

your probably right. The original engine I had came out of a Galaxy 500 , but with some rebuilds and changes I have a different block and heads but the heads I have on the engine I ported and went through a water jacket by mistake so I have bought another set of heads which are the C8AEH to rebuild and install.

Let me make a correction on the valves, both heads have the same valve size in them, But it looks like I have everyone stumped on if the hypen between the C8AE-H and C8AEH means anything???

Thanks fordman I was hoping someone would come up with something. I kinda figured it didnot mean anything but I want some you guys to check it out for me. I plan on porting them and installing a set of stainless 2.09 and 1.65 valves in them

Yeah I am not looking forward to the price . The owner of the machine shop that is going to do my heads is an old Ford fan use to race Fe engines so when i told him what I had he told me we could work out a price, but not to expensive!!! also I hve my seats so all I have to pay for is the machine work and valve job.

that shouldnt be to bad then, to have new seats installed, milled .010 and hot tanked it was exactly $288 at a machine shop near me, i found my valves receipt and it was $112.12 for stainless valves, heavier springs were $48 through crane, so i have about $500 in my heads not includeing the 25+ hour port job i did.

I still have to port them, but I have springs, valves, seats so all I need is the machine work. Since i only screwwed up one head by porting through a water jacket and the heads i bought are the same casting number I will probably get away with only having to prot one head. and just getting the valves installed, but OH WELL its only money!! just going to burn in my pockets any ways, instead spen on something I like to do!!!
