390 Balancer
This might have been asked before but I need a balancer for my 1964 390 and need to know will one for a 70's model truck 390 work for it because thats all I can get from the autoparts around here, just bought a new crank for it tonight and wanted a balancer but they dont list balancers for 390's that old just 289's.

That's a good question because the later damper will work but it will screw up all your pulley alignments since the early damper is thinner and has the pulley built-in. You can't convert it all over to the later pulleys because they won't align with your generator. Switching to an alternator would be hard as the engine block doesn't have the bolt hole for it. There's gotta be a way, I'm missing something.
