Hey yall Ive heard a lot of arguments either way on this and I was wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience useing these. My truck is an 86 250 with 460 motor and factory Holley 4 barrel(4180 I believe). I was wondering if these things really do help out on fuel efficiency and low/mid range power. Any experience yall have had with them please tell. I know you probably wouldn't feel any power increas driving, mainly wondering if it would help bump My MPG up a little.(I'm getting 10 average and If I got 11 or more I'd be thrilled )
They do pretty much the same as a tunnel ram, only on the tunnel ram, more so. That extra distance helps in two different way; first, as previously said, it helps to give the atomized air-fuel mixture more velocity when going into the runners. Also it helps to further atomize the mixture, since there's a bit more room for everything to mix. On my predator, they actually suggest a 1-2" spacer for that pupose.
thanks a lot yall. You have given me some good input but there is one thing I am wondering. Since it in short improves atomization and the mixture velocity it should improve power(Low, mid, or high RPM levels?) but will this neccessarily help out fuel mileage cruising down the highway at 65?(I know I drive slow) I'm trying to see if the 80-100 bucks would be justified. Thanks again.
25 bucks for the four hole ones? Wow! That's cheap enough it wouldn't even hurt me too bad even if it din't help. Is that the kind you run? What brand?
