Slow Starting?
When I try to start my bronco at times it will take several revolutions for it to start....the engine turns nice and fast. It just doesn't seem to fire or get gas?? I installed new cap & rotor and new plugs and wires. I'm sure this problem has many solutions. Could someone start me out with simple checks first then serious checks......thx

It could be as simple as your fuel pressure regulator leaking down, allowing all the fuel in the injector's rail to return to the tank. An easy test would be to turn the key to the start position, but do not start, you'll here the fuel pump run then shut off. Do that 3 or 4 times and then start it and see what happens, see if she start's right away after the system is primed. Or get a fuel pressure test gauge and check for leak down using the shrader valve on the rail. Shut the motor down check pressure. Start it back up to re-pressurize the rail then check the pressure the next morning prior to starting and see where your at. I think it should be at or within 5 p.s.i. of the pressure at shutdown, I don't have the manual in front of me, something close to that.

Thanks ALSAIR.......I will check that this evening.....but will that be an all the time thing or every so often? She seems to have a hard time starting about every other start-up....
