Ghost Stories

I'm sorry, I have to do this. The first few times people talked about this were awesome, I just loved reading the stories. Does anyone have any that they would like to tell. I find this stuff very interesting, especially coming from everyday people.

Lets hear what ya got to say!

In Greensboro, Vermont. A house built in 1785. Weird stuff. Doors that unlatch and swing open of their own. The old type of latch that would never undo itself, unless in a 8.0 earthquake. Organ music coming from the next room when there is a piano in that room. Kitchen drawers that open right in front of you, the kind that are wood sliding on wood, no rollers or anything like that modern stuff. I don't know for certain if it was ghosts, but this stuff was not done by humans.

I worked in a hotel the was haunted. It was even featured on A&E for a Halloween special. The hotel was built in 1922 and within a year there was a murder commited. The victims name was Clarence and he was killed in a dispute over a woman. At the time, Sedgwick county was dry, but there was a speakeasy in the basement of the hotel with a tunnel leading under the Arkansas river and in to the next county, which wasn't dry. That is how the killer made his escape. It is said that Clarence wanders the hallways of the hotel waiating to have his revenge on his killer, who was never caught. People that work there, including my last roommate, claim to have seen him or experienced his actions. Also, housekeeping, says that he likes to rearrange the furniture in the rooms on the 8th floor. I have walked into a room and seen all the chairs pulled up so that four or five people could all look out the window.

My sister had a few things happen to her when we lived in West Virginia roughly 30 years ago. My sister had a friend that lived in a house down the street. The house was supposedly "haunted".. I don't know what the deal was, if someone died there or what.

The first occurence she experienced happened when she was waiting for her friend to find something upstairs. She was waiting in the living room. Her friend had a piano there, so my sister went over there and started playing around with the piano. She happened to be hitting the lower keys. By themselves, the upper keys played! She and her friend bolted out the door.

The second occurrence occurred when she and her friend were at her friends house. They were the only two at home. My sister heard very strange singing coming from upstairs. She thought maybe it was her friend. Her friend came out from the kitchen.. meaning it wasn't her friend that was singing.. they ran out the house and to my parents house. I think my sister avoided the house at all costs after that!!

A friend of mine has a shore house in Seaside Heights, NJ that is supposedly haunted as well. I've heard some of the stories. Apparently 10 or 15 years ago there was a fire in the house and a lady died there as a result. The house was fixed up and eventually they bought it. They've had some strange things happen. Sometimes their stuff (smaller items.. sunglasses, etc) would dissapear for a few weeks. It wouldn't matter if it were inside or outside.. or if they were home or not. THEN, they eventually would find it.. usually in crawl spaces on the second floor. Other weird stuff that would happen.. once my wife's friend was talking.. all of a sudden she would say something really odd or strange. My friend and his parents both heard what she said - she never remembers saying it. They figure somehow the ghost spoke through her somehow. Weird stuff..

Me? I've never seen or had anything weird like that happen to me. I guess I'm the type who "believes it when I see it".. although I don't think I would particularly care to see or experience that

My best friends parents restored an old Victorian home that was built around 1880 or so. When he got married they used the house as their "Chapel". His parents always claimed it was haunted and I naturally didn't believe them. Well, while watching video tape of their wedding we noticed that the second story window (in the turret) opened at some point and then closed when the wedding was over. There was Nobody in the house because we were all outside.

down here in galveston texas there is a wall that has a ghost face on it. they pressure wash it till it goes away, but it will move to another spot on the wall everytime. i look at ghost stories all the time, i always want to go and check them out. there is another story about a railroad track somewhere near austin tx, a schoolbus was hit by a train and killed all the kids, now if you go there at night and stop on the tracks with your car in neutral, you will be pushed off of them ( the tracks are on flat ground). a few people said they dusted the car for prints and there was a bunch of little kid prints all over the back.

I lived in a house on Sand Mt. in Trenton, GA that was definitely haunted. Had a history to it (suicide), but I can't say how much of that was true, or if the story snowballed over the years. We bought the house for next to nothing because no one locally would buy it, or come near it. It was great, lots of stories to tell about it. I enjoyed being there, but I love spooky stuff. We didnt stay very long though, because my mom wasn't as enthusiastic about the spooky stuff. It was a 3 story house, supposedly built in stages by the different owners over the years. I love telling the stories about it, although not too many people believe them.
My main point in posting was to say that there is also the 'school bus full of kids' story going around there, complete with the dusting for prints part. I think that one is an Urban Legend.

darn, lucky i dindn't drive out there. woulda been a good one.
here is the story, has a picture with a little ghost kid on it.
http://paranormal.about.com/library/.../aa031201a.htm

here is the whole story of the face on the wall, i think i am gonna go try to find it this weekend.

Name: University of Texas Medical Branch
Location: Galveston Bay

It is said that the property on which the University of Texas Medical Branch was once owned by a fisherman. The university wanted the property, but the man would not budge. Finally after he died, the school acquired the property. It is said that on the back of the wall facing Galveston Bay, one can see the face of the man. The walls have been sand-blown and painted. The building has been torn down and rebuilt. Street lights have been moved. Still, the face continues to appear.

i posted these ones a while back.

my mother, 36 years ago was in the basement 2 years ago with my sister ( 1 year old at the time ) doing laundry. everyone else who lived in the house was away at a funeral. she heard the kitchen door open. "Hello?" no reply. she heard footsteps across the kitchen floor. again "hello" no reply. basement door opens. footsteps coming down the stairs... still no replies... she just grabbed my sister and ran out of the basement up the stairs as the noise continued to come down the stairs.

my grandfather died when i was 10 years old. when i was 12 years old i was up north at my grandparents "cabin" which my cousins lived next door to. i was at my cousins watching tv and wanted to run to my grandmas to grab a pop. it was about 9:00 at night, so it was dark out. as i walked up the steps on the deck, i could see through the window curtains. the kitchen light was on, as usual but something caught my attention... on the couch there was a dark haired man dressed just like my grandfather was dressed on his funeral day.

my uncle Tommy is the only one who looks anything like my grandfather, and Tommy was at the bar with the rest of my family at the time. needless to say... i didnt go in and get that can of pop. told my cousins the door was locked.

This is totally true, because it happened to me.

It was back when I was about 12 and in the middle of the night. I got up to go to the bathroom, as nature called, I went and did my business and started to head back down the hall. This was a very long hallway about and at the end of it was an antique desk. I look up to see a shadow that was illuminating and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I did the, “this is not happening,” and rubbed my eyes and did a deep hard look. This time I could see a man that was in his 60’s, bald and wearing glasses. I started to pick out a plaid shirt and I dove into my room and under the sheets. I started to pry and to be on the safe side, I prayed to anyone that I thought could help. I poked my head out from under the sheet to see this individual looking in my doorway and I really freaked. I stated to pray and ask that the item leave my room. After about ten minutes I look out of the sheets and it is gone. Needless to say I did not sleep the rest of the night. Then next day I went to eat breakfast and told my father the story. He stated that it sounded like his father. He pulled out a old picture (that I have never seen before) and showed it to me. I was totally shocked, because that was the person. Freaky

The day that my other grandfather died, he came into my room at 11:32 and stated that all was fine and that everything would be OK. I was shocked, but it was really peaceful and I knew this grandfather. I went into my parents bedroom and she was getting off of the phone with a hospital. My grandfather was in ICCU for six months and he passed away at 11:32 the night before. I told my mom that I knew already and explained how I knew. She stated that she was also visited by my grandfather. It was a cool experience and was not what I would call a haunting.

I used to not believe in ghost but I believe in them now. The stories on TV scare me at times. Especially when a photo is taken that cant be explained. Like a man suspended on a nail by a wire wrapped around his neck, that the ghost did.
A friend of mine lived ina 2 story house. Parents house, he has moved out. The whole family says they hear foot steps on the stairs, wird noises and voices. One night a friend was staying over in the upstairs bedroom, looked in the mirror and saw a old lady sitting on a bench behind him. And that the closet door in that room will open and close during the night. I dont know if there is a lock or not but they said it couldnt be the wind because the door is completely closed and the door **** clicks, showing its shut good.
I've never personally expeirenced and ghosts. Although I may be suppressing the memories.
