AZtrainer-

your story reminded me of another one of my experiences. when i was 8 or 9 years old i went to a summer camp for kids. the boys bunks were above the kitchen and eating area. they always left the lights on in the lower level in case anyone wanted to use the restroom. this was an OLD farmhouse that had been remodeled. me and a few other camp kids were up sorta late talking. the lights were out in the room. i dont remember who noticed it first, but a large shadow started coming up the stairs. we could only see the figure of a large man, who seemed to hover up the steps, not walk.... as "it" entered the room, which was completly open with beds around the walls he would just stop and stand over one of the beds, then move to the next, it didnt take long before i just ducked under the covers and tried my best to go to sleep. the next day we talked about it, and i wasnt the only one who saw what went on, there was a kid who was alot older than us, and alot bigger who was really spooked about it.

my old girlfriends grandfather died. often when relatives visit there will be footsteps, or doors shutting upstairs when no one is upstairs... apparrently grandma doesnt mind... when they ask "what was that sound" she replies "oh, thats just grandpa"

spooky... anyways i could go on and on but i wont... unless ya want me to!

The wife of a very good buddy of mine grew up in a 1910 vintage house that had "issues". Everything was normal at the house until remodel projects began; there were a total of three major projects. During the course of every remodel, there were numerous instances of lights being turned on in unoccupied rooms and doors in unoccupied rooms opening and closing. None of the bizzare behavior ever occured where a person could directly see it, and none of the events seemed to be in a fashion to threaten anyone. A typical "event" would occur when the family was, say, watching TV or eating. They would all notice the event such as the light in a room down the hallway going on when everyone was at the table. After a project was completed, the issues would all end. The house has been peaceful now for about 10 years since the last remodel. Go figure.

i just remembered this one. a girl i went to school with, if you were in her basement you could sit on her washer or dryer, with the thing turned off, and itll slide to the middle of the basement room.... sometimes they find the things just moved when no one is home. i havent seen it myself but i believe it due to the fact that 10 people from my graduating class told me about it.

ill try to remember more. i know i have at least 2 more stories.

Remodeling of an old house is said to be the best way of getting some ghostly action. Before we moved into our current house, there was much remodeling. House was built in 1894. We had alot of spooky action for the first few months. We asked the remodeling people, and the owner from who we rent about the spookyness. His family had owned the house for decades. His response..."The longer you live there, the more it becomes yours." No one has ever given us a straight answer, and no longer need one.
His brother visited from the nursing home once. We asked if he would like to see what we had done with the house.....he said he was never going in that house again. Kinda makes you wonder what an old man living by himself for over 50 years might have experienced. Rumors ofcourse fly, but who really knows. I love living there, and in no way in a hurry to leave.

You want a ghost story... Well theres something across the room looking at me right now. I keep hearing this growl... Oh man im really scared.
Anyway i dont have any stories like you guys because my grandpa built this house in the 60s and is alive and healthy. But have you ever been sitting somewhere minding your own business and something cathes your eye, you look but nothings there like in a movie something walks by a door the characters get the feeling and look but nothing i get that all the time and my best friends always asks me why Im never bothered by anything, but when this happens i get up and look. Also I know houses settle at night with attivity in the house but sometimes i hear creeking noises when i would think there wouldnt be.

When I was around 4 or 5 years old, I remember there used to be a wierd figure that I could hardly make out from time to time. It would always be late at night when I couldn't get to sleep. This went on for years. One summer at my Grandparents house we were all sleeping on the living room floor, and I was still kinda awake, I remember hearing my mother tell my grandmother, that at night my Fathers Father would go around to each room to see if everybody was safe in bed, if one of us was not in our bed he would stand next to my mothers side of the bed and hold up his arms in a shrugging motion. This would last until my mother woke up and explained to him that either me, or my sisters were sleeping over somewhere else for the night, and everything was okay. This was my grandfather on my dads side, and he past away before I was born. This continued until after we moved away, and after hearing my mothers explanation it never bothered me when he came around. Kinda of a gaurdian angel to me.

The house me and my wife moved out of about three weeks ago was just off a road called 'Fire trail' road. About 15 years ago we used to go up there to party, It was a gravel road at the time. People told us to watch out for the fire trail ghost. When I saw it it was a 'glowing orb' fallowing my car. I saw it in my rear view mirror, but when we would look back you could'nt see it. There where no other cars out there and no side roads. One of my friends said it went right through his car when they where in it.
When me and my wife moved into a house on fire trail road (now paved) I had not thought about the 'ghost stories' for years, Untill one night our bedroom door opened, I could hear the handle turn and the door open. Floors would squeak like some one was walking across the floor. And when I would be out working on my truck I would get that 'some one looking over your shoulder' feeling alot. I talk to the people who lived there before us and they said they had the same stuff happen. One night not to long before we moved I stoped at a friend house down the road from mine and he asked "any weird s*** going on at your place?" I asked "Like what?" Then he said "Do you belive in qhost?" I said "yea" and told him what had been going on. He said he had the same stuff plus seeing some weird 'figures'. The people across the street from him have had there T.V. turn off and on, Lights would do the same. Then he pulled out this photo of his car he took, right in front of his car where these 2 ghostly figures. He told us "When I took the photo they wern't there. They showed up in it when I developed it." Me and my wife moved, They now have there house up for sale. Some weird stuff goes on on that hill.

Here where I live there is a Chapel named Kellers Chapel. I know this may sound horrible and I never liked the story, but They say it was named after several babies with the last name Keller was traped inside the chapel while it was on fire. The legend has it if you go out there at night shut off you car you can here the cries of the babies. The legend also says that you can see figures of ???? walking or flying around the chapel. When you go to start your car back the first few times you try it, it will not start. This is a nationaly know ghost story. You can do a search on google and find out more about it.

They say you can see them in mirrors and in pictures. also you can pick them up in infared cammeras (because of heat differences) and dogs can see tham also because of the light range they can see

Redneckbronco we have an urban myth around here about a brige thats out in the boonies its called cry baby bridge suposidly a woman and her baby fell off the brige

I work in a hardware store that is 80+ years old and is about the size of a block and the upstairs was apartments at one time but we store stuff up there now and it always feels like some one is looking at you and you some times walk into cold drafts (presence of a spirit) that are never in the same place twice. Also we have a private company clubhouse next door frome the same era (an old bar) (dimly lit, fuly stocked bar etc) and I know for a fact that I have seen stuff move down in the basement (about 30' wide x 80' long x 5'6" tall and it has an old walk in cooler and I have been in there before and I have been shut in (no one else was in the building) and I have been in the basement by my self (2 lights) and heard stuff move and have felt a presence. I hate going down there alone im very supersticious and in places im scared of the dark (and you would be too. And gosts do exist.

also did anyone ever watch that show on MTV called Fear where they went in haunted buildings??? The one time were on the battle ship USS Hornet and a girl had to go to a part of a ship that was known for papanormal actvities and set up an infared camera and sit infromt of it in the dark for a half hour and the others back at the base watching the video feed could see multable large orbs apearing around here and when she got back to the safe house she was bleeding from her mouth and nose. It just helps confirm they exist.

my dad died in '94 and since then,i have the feeling he helps me out on some stuff. Not all the time, but sometimes.

After he died I had a dream that he was sitting in the living room. the windows were open and it was brite in there. He was sittin on our blue loveseat and asked me if i wanted to come with him. I said no, don't know why, and he said that he loved me and to take care of my mom.

one night i was sleeping on the blue ocuch(matched the loveseat). and I got up to turn off the light, it turned off itself. I was half asleep and just said "thanks dad".And went to sleep.

Also, thers been times along time ago where I have been visited by a black figure. And i can't move, I try by arms are pinned down. They talk to me for about 5 minutes then i go back to sleep. But the funny thing is that i never listen. I was thinking about other stuff. Like how i wish my dog would bust through the door and kill it. But that was along time ago, and before my dad died.

My dad died in in a car wreak in 98. I live in washington and he in southern Orgean. I was just out of it for the first two days. I had to get the cash together to go and stay in Orgean. The third night after he died my wife was asleep, I was playing nintendo when I 'saw' ( I really could'nt tell what I was looking at) him walk down the hallway and stand beside me. I could feel him place his hand on my shoulder, When he did I knew that things where going to be O.K.. I knew he was O.K.. All the anger, stress of his death had left me. I was still very sad that he died, But I knew he was still with me. I can relate to what you mean when you say thay he helps you out, I to find myself saying "thanks Dad"

not a real ghost story but it scared the heck out of me. before we got our new fire
station built our old one was built in 1885 still had the hay lofts for the horses. very spooky place. ive never had a ghost experience but i believe. one night at work we were all up in bed. the bedroom was the spookiest place because it was real big with high ceilings and little pathways to adbondoned parts of the city building that was attached to the fire station. i was laying in bed just about ready to fall asleep when my blankets started moving. little scared but closed my eyes again then all of a sudden they pulled off my body. needless to say i got up to leave and everyone started laughing, they tied fishing line to my blankets and was pulling them. i still couldnt sleep the rest of the night,
