Just wondering if any of you have installed them on your X. Looking for a set but just wondering what type you have and are you happy with them. Thanks,
If by "traction bars" you're referring to an anti-sway bar, yes. Many have installed the Hellwig anti-sway bar, and they all smile with joy when they take their X out for a ride.
You were right..... The set from ORU are nice.....along with the price. I was looking at a set from FABTECH (FTS 62003), same concept and half the price. They claim they wouldn't work on an "X" because of the shock mount/plate.
I have an 01 X with a 6" lift, I installed a set of the ProComp Trac bars for a SuperDuty long bed. They are awsome, no more axle wrap under load. I would recomend these and they were simple to install. Just remember when drilling the frame to ensure the fuel and brake lines are not in the way. Troy
Thanks Simonson. Did you have any problems with the plate mounted on the passenger side axle in front of the shock mount getting into the way. From my understanding this is why some of the SuperDuty bars are not interchangeable with the X.
I did not have any issues with the plate, although I did have some trouble with the factory traction bar. This looks like half of a spring with a rubber mount facing forward, I simply cut it off with a tourch as they are no longer needed. After they were out of the way the bars mounted up with no problems. Troy
