Identify the original engine?
Just bought a 95 F-250, 351 with 200,000 miles on it. Anyone known of a way to identify if this is the original engine not rebuilt? Maybe the valve covers. Is there a factory color for them? These are orange.

I think the factory colour was grey. Orange is definitely not stock Ford. It is possible that just the valve covers have been painted. See how much rust or oil or crud is on the engine block to get an idea of the engine's age.

if it is a ford rebuild there will be a tag saying when it was rebuilt,
get under the truck and on the driversside near the oil pan you will see a metal tag that tells you that it is a ford rebuild and what date it was rebuilt
