Does anyone have an exhaust setup where the pipes come out in front of the rear wheels but behind the doors?! On both sides...If so...pics?? Tips....thx
I had that, but only with one pipe exiting out on the passenger side, sorry no pic. It looked pretty cool, but I don't know how you would get a second pipe out the drivers side. There is a nice spot in the frame where it starts going up just before the rear tire and thats where I had the pipe come under, that way it didn't hang down lower than anything else on the truck. I had it exit about 3"-5" in front of the tire and I didn't have any problems with the tire getting warm; I had heard of people who put the pipe too close to the tire and actually started melting it after long drives. I recently took it off, because I had no muffler and the cops around here don't like that and I put a glass pack on. I'd like the pipes to exit out the side like before, but the muffler goes back so far it looks like you would have to bend the pipe back towards the front of the truck to clear the tire.
i had a 1980 international scout that had 2 1/2 inch duals that came out at the front of the tires. never had a problem. i also know someone who had a bronco withh side pipes like on old vette's, only bad part about them was you would burn your legs getting out .f you weren't careful. i am thinking about how to run my exhaust on my bronco. out the back or out the sides? i have headers so i don't want to deafen people in traffic.
I remember seeing someone here that had a few pics of the pipes on their bronco. But i cannot remember.....all I remember is that it was red.......and i figure it should run a little better since the flow is more straight line out the side than up,over, and around the rear end.......no???
seems to me that the best way to have the exhaust exit in front of the tires is to get a muffler that has the inlet and outlet on the front. i know they make them, because a friend of mine was running a setup like that on his mustang. the exhaust came into the muffler on the inboard side, and exited right out again on the front, and the muffler was the rear-most part of the exhaust system. if he could snake that around a mustang's chassis (and it was a road-racer, very low to the ground) then i KNOW we could get those under a Bronco.
