When should I buy my Next Diesel??

Hey guys, I need yor help. I'm going to be purchasing a 2004 Ford F250 Crew Cab, 4x4, XLT, 6.0L Diesel. THE MSRP on that truck is $42000. I do not want to finance. I will be paying cash.

My question is when do the 2005 models come out. I want to wait until the dealers have the sale where they have to get rid of the 2004 models. I think if I wait till then I should be able to get one 10,000 below sticker? What do you think?

When do the 2005 models arrive??? Thanks in advance guys.

You may see a 3-$4000 rebate around September?
Right now with Xplan I think it adds up to 2-$2500?
I'm Aplan but used my dads Zplan for an extra $1000
And yes I saved $10,000 off from sticker.
Good luck

Unless you qualify for A-plan, I think you're being unrealistic. A $42,000 truck is going to have an invoice of right around $37,000. Our 3% holdback would be around $1200, so let's say your dealer is desperate and he's willing to give you that, too. With the current $1500 rebate, that would get you down to $34300. Ford would have to come up with an ADDITIONAL $2300 rebate to make your deal work, and I doubt you'd see that on a 6.0 SuperDuty. I could be wrong, you MIGHT get that deal, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

I'm sure that, like myself, you've read posts here about how people got $10,000 off sticker, 4 different rebates, the dealer gave them $2,000 OVER book value for their junk trade-in, and their salesman comes out to their house every Sunday afternoon and washes the truck for them. And I had everyone here convinced I looked like a cross between Mel Gibson and Brad Pitt- until lariatf150 posted that photograph of me. Just remember: it's the Internet.

10k below sticker price? You'd better look for a REAL desperate salesperson at the end of the month, I wouldn't count on it. I'm not sure I would let a deal go like that unless I was real desperate to meet a goal and I was still seeing some $$$ from it, given the amount of time you'll spend trying to negotiate to that. Not sure if a sales manager would want to work a deal like that where he's not making any money either. You may have a LITTLE more room to work if you brought in a trade...?

Well guys, I appreciate the responses. I too have been selling cars for a living. Ive been doing it for over 20 years.

Anyway, the local dealers here in AZ are advertising commercials on TV for teh following offers:

$3500 Rebate on ANY ford truck or SUV... everyone qualifies
$1500 Ford owner loyalty rebate
$500 dealer loyalty rebate
$1000 Military rebate

There are probably a few Im forgetting but anyway, that totals $6500. Which brings the sticker down too $35500. Plus, I figure I can negitiate another $2000 off. That brings it too....$33500. THe best part is the local ford dealer is offering $3000 minimum for any trade, Ill go buy a pos for $300 and trade it in for 3000. Then my total price for the truck would be

$30,500

Im still gonna wait till July to buy. I figure by then I can get them even cheaper. I will let you guys know what I get it for.... if Im right someone owes me a beer!!!!!!!!!

By the way.. I know the GM at the dealer personally. We worked together for 15 years. Hopefully that hepls me a bit. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Gix, you can find these rebates in the Truck Trader, the sunday paper or even TV commercials. Alot of these "extra" rebates are offered by dealers themselves, not all dealers have them.

By the way, a good place to buy Ford trucks at is Tom Jones ford in Avondale. They have really LOW prices. Good luck!!!

Thanks... I fired of an email to Eddie at Tom Jones this morning. With no city tax there, should save me another $500-800.

I can't wait to see where all this goes. ANY dealer that advertises false rebates and guarantees a minimum trade-in value would be out of business so fast in New York State it would make your head spin! I'd run from these guysas fast as I could. Just ask Lookinfora250.

Jeff,

My guess is that he's missing the fine print. Probably can't combine X rebate with Y rebate. If he is correct, then I'd be happy to take a 250 6.0L CC off a dealers hands for under 30k today! I'm down from 39k to 32.5k on a XLT 2wd, take off another $2500 and its a done deal.

Just bought in Alabama last week. F-250, FX4, Lariat CC. Sticker Sticker 45,290. Advertized in paper for 36,636. Bought it for 3000 less than best price they had given me before the ad. Drove off for 38.200. Felt I got a fair price.
Haven't bought in 20 years, and forgot the BS you go through with a dealer.
Great truck though!!!!!!!!!!!
