Need Help Removing Turbo????
I would say if I had not found the pedestal leak when disassembling the turbo it would have been a 3-5 hour job. Really depends on how the up pipe and down pipe V-clamps come apart. My hoses, etc. all came apart fine as I juiced them up with Loctite penetrating oil the night before so everything came apart OK.
My biggest hang up was discovering the pedestal leak and I did not have the replacement "O" rings. Plus, I gutted the EBV. I am going to Bell Ford today for the "O" rings and to Checker for a 20mm frost plug for the EBV. Should go back together pretty quickly.
I would recommend purchasing "O" rings in advance, in case you find a leak as well. I would replace them anyway, for a few bucks it beats taking it all apart again later to fix a leak.
Give me a call if and when you plan on doing it.
Thanks I/ll let you know when I am gonna do it. I am probably going to wait till june. I really do not have a stutter prblem with my truck, But I haven"t towed my trailer with the exhaust and predator yet. I am planning a camping trip in june to asses for any bugs while towing before we set off for Utah in July. I want to make sure all the bugs are worked out before I load my family up for a long trip. Hate to get stranded with a newborn and a toddler somewhere in no mans land. If I have any problems in june I'll still be close enough to hme I can turn around ya know. If No problems exist I might not even put the WW on. "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
