First off, has anyone had problems with clutch life while running a modified tune or chip?
Now, ive got 10k on a new clutch (kit with ground flywheel) and its starting to slip a little under hard pulls. RPM's will flare a bit then truck will catch up.
When (although i dont want to) i replace my clutch again, ill probably go with a LuK kit w/flywheel, and replace input shaft (got a bit of wear), mount pyro probe pre turbo and maybe replace 3rd syncro.
Any tips, thoughts, questions?
I'm having my third clutch put in on Friday. I ordered the Luk replacement kit w/ flywheel. I've been having problems with mine slipping as well, but that went away, and now the pilot bearing squeals and when the clutch actually engages the pedal is almost all the way up and makes a sickening clunking noise. The first clutch was killed with oil from a rear main leak at 37000 miles. The dealer put this second clutch in and it hasn't been right ever since. I'm really hoping this Luk kit works like everybody says. I am damn hard on a truck, but I didn't expect this clutch to bomb out so quick. I do think the combo of a lift, stock gears, a lead foot, and the Predator have helped me wear this one out pretty quickly.
