It'll be a long time. The 6.0 uses the EEC-VI (PTech) computer and is not compatible with current chip and flashing methods. The chip companies have to go back to the drawing board for it.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Nov-02 AT 11:26 AM (EST)]Does this tuner have the ability to read just the basic OBD codes or the full set? Also, since I'm new to this chipping and tuning, do I understanding correctly that with the tuner you don't need to add a chip to the computer? You are just reprogramming the chip that is already there?

Ken, a buddy just bought a '99. I have driven it and it seems a little stronger than my '02. I think it may already be "programmed" Is there a way I can find out? And if it is, will the microtuner wipe out that configuration and load the new program? Or if the truck is already programmed, will that have to be eliminated first. I told him I would ask you first to see what we need to do, and then he and I are going to order a couple for both of our trucks. By the way, am I correct in that fact that once you program your truck, the SCMT can only be used on that truck?
Thanks, Ken

Different stock programs operate differently plus axle ratios may have something to do with it.

Not unless you're a dealer and you can read out the calibration.

The Microtuner will overwrite whatever is already there.

No. It can be used on more than one truck, only one truck at a time. To use it on another truck you have to restore the currently programmed truck to stock.

Thanks, Ken for the response. We'll be ordering SCMT's soon!

Ken, one more question...I promise! Does the SCMT automatically change trans shift points? And how radical are they. I like the current stock points and want to stay as close to them as possible.

Ken,
I have a 2001 F-350 PSD and use the superchips microtuner on the lower program. I tow a 13,000lb 5th wheel and when going up steep grades my EGT guage runs at 1200-1250. I have made no mods to the exhaust system and would like to know if going to a flowthrough muffler would solve my problem or do I need to do something more? Thanks for any help.

1250 is not a problem. Staying at or above 1275 for prolonged periods is an issue. If you want to see a drop in EGT's either a down pipe or Magnum Force (Big Sucker) cold air intake will drop the temps. The intake will be easiest to install.

I have a 2002 F-250 super Cab 8ft bed. I use it to tow my race car and cargo. I only tow with an open car trailer not an enclosed. What would be the best chip for me? I was looking at the western diesel's pro shot kit, but i'm worried about my warrenty with the exhaust. PLease Help Chris

Ken, received microtuners yesterday. Already programmed one and I am told the results are fantastic! I just want to make sure that when I do mine....which is still under full warranty, that if I take it back for warranty repairs and reprogram back to "stock" that there is absolutely no way they will be able to tell it was programmed with the tuner. I guess I am just being extra cautious since I do not want to take any chance of voiding my warranty. Thanks, Ken
