OK you think both candidates suck (OK Nader but if your on a truck site he’s the enemy so no choice on that looser) do you vote for the one that offends you less and let him think your vote was an approval or do you just not vote?
I think there should be a spot on the ballot that says I VOTE NO! So that these clowns will realize that we want something different because as said if they get you vote they immediately think you voted for them and not against the other clown.
That is the question that has been running through my mind ever since that POS Kerry secured the Dems nomination. In the end I'll prolly vote for the lesser of the two evils, GWB, at least he'll keep his hands out of my wallet. Republicans should have run McCain in 2000, he would have killed Gore, we all would be better off, and he would smoke a clown like Kerry. I would certainly vote for a non-partisan combo of McCain and Lieberman for VP. Political parties are killing this country.
I personally like GW. BUt if I didnt like either, I would likely vote for the lesser of the two eveils. One problem with the 2 majority problems is if you dont vote for one of the two, its a wasted vote. I hope McCain runs in 08. I like the man above most other politicians, he seems to say what he thinks is right and not straight down the party. How about 4 years of no executive or legislative work being done.
There are lots of good points you guys are making, as to my opinion, the two party system is not working as it was intended, because of a number of reasons. Some - but not all are (feel free to add to my list),
1. Partisanship has taken over common sense in both parties.
2. Our choices have been cultivated and then served up to us.
3. Donations to the parties further refine our choices, (negatively).
4."For the people and by the people" Truely does not apply to most politicians
in office because they have there own agenda's(power, money, etc..)
5. The Political run-offs are setup by the parties for sucess at all costs,
therefore the voting public never has a chance to put the person that
they would really prefer to vote for, (see #2)
I realize that I am criticizing the only system that we have had for a long time, but I believe it may be time to look at it and see how badly it has been corrupted and try to make it work again as it was intended too when the constitution was adopted. Armchair quarterbacking won't solve the problems, so I would like to hear your responses.
It is important to know that blaming one person for each and every problem the government creates is inaccurate, the current system as a whole is where the problem lies. The guy at the top takes the blame, but our government is multi-tiered in order to keep one person from having complete control, like a Dictatorship or Socialism.
Like I said, this my opinion, not quotes or facts.

I find GW to be the worst pres. in living memory, but i too would vote for McCain! Nice that we can agree!
The funny thing about the two party system is that once upon a time, a United States president gave a farwell address, one of the things he warned the American people about was political parties, because he saw members of his administration beginning to form the basis of two opposing parties that were more concerned about whose philosphy was right than the good of the country as a whole. That man was Geroge Washington and he was way ahead of his time.
The real question, given that all running have negative marks, is do we want the known evil, or the unknown? Yes, GW has had problems, but what will Kerry do? Or (heaven forbid) Nader? This year, with all the indecision and finger pointing, Nader may actually have a shot. IMO, he would be WAY worse than even Gore, and Gore would have had us riding bicycles.
Putting a different party in office is not going to fix anything. It will just create another purpose to be served. Really, to fix the problems, it will take somebody with no political alignment who can walk in there, and take care of business with everybody in mind.
Anybody want to sponsor my presidential campaign? I am running under the FTE party banner!
