I have a feeling that this has been asked 100 times already. Does anyone know when the REAL 2000 prices are going to be out? I've been told that I can't order a 2000 until then.
I called my dealer yesterday and he has no prices yet. You can order a 2000 now, but you can only guess what the price will be. I ordered a 2000 SD crew cab 4x4 v10 about three weeks ago. It is due in about Sep.1
The options an packages look different than what I have heard. For example, I thought the 4 wheel ABS was going to be standard not, but it shows it as an option on the prices you have put together. Also, I thought the CD player was going to be included in the Lariat package, but again it looks to be an additional option. Have the standards and options changed? I finally found a dealer that would take my order. The salesman put the order in Monday, but now I've been calling him back to get the official standards and options.
Still Waiting, They might be standard on the XLT or Lariat but not on the XL or base model. Ford offers them as options so if you were building a XL and wanted 4 wheel anti lock brakes you could get them. Good guess huh?
The dealer called me this morning and told me he received a fax from Ford showing that 4 wheel ABS is not standard on XLT and Lariats. In the press release from Ford, regarding flat price rates for 2000, there is a section saying the 4 wheel ABS is going to be standard on the Lariat package. Well, either way, I've ordered it, but it would be nice not to have to pay the extra dough.
The ABS is no longer standard fare on the trucks anymore. I have no clue why. The Packages are the same pretty much except they are now standard and included in the base price of the truck. I just kept them there because they were listed in the ordering guide that way.
The ordering guide states the CD player is still optional on all models.
I hope to have the Base Price/Options List cleaned up soon.
My dealer told me the trailer tow mirrors do telescope, but also told me if I wanted them to be power mirrors I would have to wait. He said the power mirrors will be a late delivery. Possably two or three months. I am not good at waiting so I'll get the non power mirrors. I had the same problem of my 98 250. I hope I have better luck on my 2002.
I have spoken with my dealer as well. They will be telescoping power trailer mirrors but will not be available for a while. Ford is having troubles with the motors that retracts the mirror, it apparently is to heavy and is causing a lot of problems. All they are saying now is that they will be available later in the model year.
I'm still waiting on the Delear to give me the real numbers, but I compaired the 1999 and 2000 prices for the truck I'm waiting on and found the difference to be only $355 List and $291 Invoice.
What I ordered: F-250SD Lariat SC V-10 Auto TT 4x4 Off Road, Class IV hitch, privacy class, CD player.. etc...
The price in 1999 was 28,504 (invoice) the price for the 2000 (I ordered) was only 28,934 with the extra 11 gallons of gas from the factory and possibly the $49 doc fee. I then ordered the $319 4 wheel ABS, which I think is cheaper this year than last. There is a big difference in the base price, but this is because the PEP is included in the price this year.
