Well I have been looking hard for a nice under 100,000 milk 4x4 V10 Excursion. I found a 2000 model with 107,000 miles that the asking price was $7400. It had a good bit of rocker rust so I passed. I have noticed dealers and private party sellers are asking in some cases $5000 more than these vehicles are worth. There is an early 2002 in my area with 67,000 miles V10 4x4 clean and they are asking $19,995. What would be a fair price guys? I am using Kelly Blue Book for a reference. I am located in Ohio and having a hard time finding a Excursion with a decent price.

Reason: ..
KBB and NADA will be well under the actual price that our Ex's are routinely going for. With the Ex being relatively rare they are priced much higher than the "books" say they should be. Pricing will also vary greatly from one place to another. Ultimately the best price is the one you are willing to pay, or you can get financing, for the Ex that is right for you.
Throw the book away as they dont reflect actual value any longer. Its supply and demand, and supply for good ones are low.
More reps.
Totally agree. KBB said mine (6.8 v10, 100k miles, 4X4, 4.30's) worth $8750. Carfax upped that by $900 from it's one owner history. Edmunds only appraised for $6000!!
Stealer ship was asking $15K. I worked them as hard as I could and they wouldn't budge from $13. We sat on it for 2 weeks trying to negotiate with them via text. When we finally went to see it someone else was about to buy it. We actually saw them and overheard them as I had my husband sidle up next to them to eavesdrop.
They decided to go think about it and we grabbed it. It was a frustrating experience thinking I had all this knowledge with the values I looked up and trying to shop but the reality is they are NOT market value.
Sure you'll find less clean ones that drive like crap for cheaper and maybe you are the type that enjoys the whole fix up thing but we found a clean, rust free, no work needed (yet), bells and whistles, drives great and most importantly that we love. 4x2's have a huge price drop too if you don't need the 4wd.
Over the last 12-16 months fuel has been going down the prices of Excursions have been increasing. Check the prices on Prius' they are down below book.

As mentioned supply and demand.
Very good points, as you know I play around in the Geo Metro market and they are back to basically giving them away again now that gas is cheap. I'm thinking about picking up another one if I can find a clean 4 door hatch with the 3/5.
What the heck would you want one (or more?) of those things for unless you were going to play 'Monster Truck' in your backyard??!!
Now that I mention it, THAT sounds like fun! We do have 5 acres to play on...
I drive them! Yesterday is the first time I've driven my EX since Thanksgiving and I drove it to work today, first time for that since last Summer!
The blue one is my daily driver that I have done as high as a 62 MPG tank on (Average over it's life with me is currently at 52 MPG) and the white one is a '94 (both are '94s) XFi with only 48k miles that I am currently detailing out, it will be a Summer car as it has AC. Off.
If you ever feel bummed about Excursion prices, just remember this:
There were more than twice as many Mustangs made in 1965 than all the Excursions combined.
There were more than twice as many Mustangs made in 1966 than all the Excursions combined.
There were more Mustangs made in any of the following single years than all the Excursions combined: 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 74, 79, and 80.
There were more Camaros in 67, 68, 69, 78, 79, and 84.
There were more Novas in 62, 63, 69, 70, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78.
There were more Chevelles in any single year between 64 an 72.
People see these old musclecars- even ragged out, and want to save them. Not so much with a ragged out Excursion... unless you're me...
