I'm pretty sure the 302 & 351W will swap, but the 300-6 start won't work on a 351w. the bendix is longer on one of them.

The starters are not engine specific, but, transmission specific.
The 300, 302 and 351W all use the same starter, but, there is a different one for an auto and manual. I know you can use one on the other, but, I forget which. Both will bolt up, but one contacts the flywheel or flex plate, been a LONG while since I had anything other than a stick.
