there should be a wire that goes from the starter to the silenoid, trace it to be sure.
the ground wire goes from the - side battery to the motor, usually to the head.
okay, i will work on that soon, but now about the ignition switch. I pulled the old one out, and now I cant get the key mechanizm out.....am I supposed to buy a new one or something???
73custom, You were right marty... I adjusted the wires acccordingly...(the other solinoid must mave been wrong) and viola....but now one thing... I have to start ny truck with a screwdriver cause I cant get the okld key assembly out of the old ignition switch...any suggestions??Thanks again ... especially Marty!
put the key in and turn it counter clockwise till it stops then push a paper clip in the little hole and turn it counterclockwise till it stops then pull it out.

All I want to know is how did this thing ever start before all this problem came about? This sounded like what happenend to me once, went to pick up my truck after sitting for months, drove it home no prob, came out the next day and wouldn't turn over. Eventually I found a corroded battery cable to be the cause, just cleaned it and 2 years later it still starts everytime with the same battery, never overlook the simple stuff. Oh and what Mil1ion said RELAY, for that's what it truely is (you can argue this all you want) the starter soleniod is mounted on the starter and is what engages the starter pinion to the flywheel/flexplate (had to get this off me chest)
