hey im gonna get a edeblrock 600 eletric choke but i was wondering what is the starting procedure with eletrcc choke? do you just turn the key? also are they hard to wire in? do they continue to work good as the years go by?
Mine has workes flawlessly for years. It wires into the stator wire from the alt/regulator if you don't have a factory choke wire.
I ususally pump mine twice when cold, then fire it up. Let it fast idle for about 30 sec. then tap the pedal so that it kicks down.

You have to set the choke on cold startup by pressing the pedal to the floor and releasing at least once. 2-3 pumps adds a little extra fuel but may not be necessary. If you pump too much or the engine floods for other reasons, floor the pedal and hold it while cranking. This will pull the choke open slightly to help clear the flood.
Mine has also worked well. I know some people adjust theirs in the spring and fall but I haven't needed to.
well after lookin at there website and seeing that the manual choke model is calibrated for more power and consdiering all you have to do with a manual is pull the choke out hit the pedal 3 times and starts with less than one turn all proablby go with the cheaper manual, thanks guys.
The only thing about a manual choke is getting the linkage/cable to work properly. Route it carefully without having any sharp turns. Anchor it to as many solid points as you can. You should probably lube the cable before you install it as well. Very frustrating to pull on the **** and have all the control motion get eaten up by cable flex.
