BTW, how did you know that you have sugar in the gas tank? Sugar does not dissolve when mixed with gasoline. The fuel pump inside the gas tank has filter/strainer that would filter most of the sugar and then the fuel filter along the fuel lines also filters out the sugar. Mostly, the sugar gets stopped in the fuel filter on the fuel ines.

However, you have to drop the gas tank to remove the sugar out of the gas tank. If you don't empty the gas tank, your fuel filter will get stopped when enough sugar clog it up and you have to keep on replacing the fuel filter. The bad thing about just keep on replacing the fuel filter and without cleaning the gas tank is that you will be stranded somewhere when the fuel filter gets stopped up.

The other problem might be if someone have added other chemical like varnish or similar in addition to the sugar and that would be worse.

Use a gas cap lock to prevent someone from pouring into your gas tank.

large crystals get stopped buy the tank filter/sock. small crystals/powder can get through.
replace the injectors and hope the injectors stopped all the sugar.
Once it gets baked onto the top rings and exhaust valves its rebuild time
