Help w/Rear end tag
I just got a 1986 F250 Lariat Diesel with a 3speed auto tranny over a week ago. I wanted to know what the rear end gear ratios are, so I went under the truck looking for the id tag; what I saw under there it wouldn't give any clues because it didn't say what the ratio are and I do not have any Ford manuals to look into it. The tag reads as this:
V12GA
55 10 2 6G17
Can some one help me.....

Could be a Sterling 10.25" ring with 3.55 gearing. I have noticed that the tags on the Sterlings leave off the last digit and it reads "10 2". I think that was the first year for the Sterling in the 250's.
