Does anyone out there know where a good spot to mount a CB radio in a 2001 Ranger XLT would be? I thought about removing the cup holder/tray thing on the trans hump and putting it there, but that leaves a huge bare spot with no carpet. It looks like you-know-what. Any ideas?
Build a custom center console that runs front to back for your truck and mount it in there. Or just build a new one to replace the cup holder/tray on the tranny hump. Just carve a foam block to the shape you want and cover it in fiberglass
This is on my 86 ranger, My grandfather used to work on the railroad so hes got a CB located right under the dash behind the shifter on the floor and alittle to the left, it still works and he didnt want to take it out cause we would have to mess with the wires again. Now when im driving to school or coming home our school goes to one channel and they talk on it all the time.
I'm personally going to install a full length Ford Explorer center console in my '01. I converted my 60/40 into buckets so now I have a spot for a console and the Explorer consoles fit perfectly and look factory.
