I have the urge to lift the front end of my Ranger about 2" to level it up with the rear.Another reason for this is additional ground clearance and also because I won't have to dig out the jack and stands everytime I change the oil .Can this 2" lift be accomplished by adding taller springs?I remember seeing some lowering springs in the LMC Ranger catalog, but I don't remember any that were for lifting.I have heard of using F-150 springs.Anyone heard of this?Either way I go,I don't want to spend over $250.BTW,if it's going to be a problem when going taller,I plan on adding sway bars later on.
Your 92' Ranger has a TTB suspension. Very easy to lift, many available options. I would think your best bet would be leveling coils, new camber bushings, and a new set of shocks. I think, don't quote me here, but for my 93' 4x (same type of front suspension), but I bought Skyjacker Softride Coils & Camber Bushings for a little under $250. They boasted 2 1/2 to 3" of lift. For mine it made my truck set perfectly level. I still had to purchase the longer shocks though. I know Rancho makes a couple of difrent kits for that particular year model (I also had a 92' 2x and had looked into lifting it before I traded up to the 93 4x), I am sure there are other manufaturers that still make kits for it. I would look into Rancho, Skyjacker, Fab-Tech(I'm not real big on some of the fab tech stuff, can explain if you find something they have you want), ect. You might also look at swapping springs and camber bushings out from a stock 4x, same year model, maybe you could find something from a salvage yard - but you are getting into experimental stuff and you know how that can go, someone else on this forum migh have some experience trying this - I don't it is just an idea, not I am not sure if that would work or not. The skyjacker kit I had worked perfect, my truck alignment was perfect after it was installed and I had no funky tire wear problems. Anyway just my 2 cents worth, hope it was of some help -
