Just picked up a 1979 bronco lariat to get the solid axle for an independent front end swap. The bronco is eat up with rust beyond repair so It will live on in other trucks I guess. It has a factory cb mike mounted to an underdash plug. I think the antenna is different for the factory cb but what about the radio itself? There is no radio at all in the bronco. Is there anything else that goes with it? How does the cb work? Does anyone know anything about the cb radio's in the dentsides and the 78 to 79 bronco? Any help woild be great.
I only know a little bit about this because I got some parts off a parts truck that happen to have some of the factory cb parts still intact. There is a box behind the drivers seat area, a antenna splitter behind the passenger dash area and I believe another box or harness that the mic plugs into towards the bottom of the dash. I have pics of the antenna splitter and box behind the seat, I'll post them later for you. This was in a reg cab pickup, not sure where the box is located in the bronco, but I can show you what it should look like.
Bronco Lariat huh? Post the badges for me. If it is a legit Bronco Lariat you better fix all that rust and restore it cause it would be the only one EVER made.
As far as the CB it worked through the factory radio. Should be a control box mounted behind the driver side rear cargo panel, the wiring harness from the dash to the control box, the mic, the antenna and a splitter mounted on the inside of the dash behind the glovbox, a suppressor mounted to the firewall by the A/C box and a mic clip mounted to the dash.
If you find your not wanting those pieces let me know what you want for it all.
