Sorry, but it looks like I won't get the time off I thought I might in order to plan a trip to NY to pick up a new truck.
So I'm trying to get an X-plan pin somewhere/somehow. Anywhooos, I am getting 3 different quotes, as in $$, for the price of my 250. I thought X-plan price was pretty much set in stone. Am I wrong? The details:
250 cc 156" Lariat 4x
3.73 limited slip
LT265 all-terrain
6.0
Auto
heated seats
captains chairs
FX4 pkg
4x4 on the fly
bodyside molding
trailer hitch
power slider
First, I don't know if I'd be all that worried about getting a PIN for X-Plan. The actual X-Plan price is always within $150 of invoice; the advantage to X-Plan is it eliminates the need to negotiate to get to invoice, and it will sometimes get you an additional rebate (like the extra $500 that's in effect right now). Some informed shopping and savvy negotiating should get you to invoice or below at any number of dealers. I just hate to see someone spend all their time chasing a PIN, when maybe that time should be spent elsewhere to get the same result.
A dealer can sell a vehicle for whatever they want. It just happens to be that my dealership's policy is to sell every vehicle for at least $200 below invoice, or $200 below the A/D/X/Z-plan prices if you qualify. The extra $500-$750 we're giving back is a temporary promotion, and trust me: that WILL end March 31st! I'm so far behind on e-mails and paperwork that I'll be spending most of Sunday at the dealership, just trying to catch up.
Jeff, I realize that X prices are close to invoice, since I have a quote for invoice, thought I'd try for X only because of the extra possible rebate. Funny thing is one guy quoted 39,022, and another one was at 40,613, and another one at 39,545. These were all X quotes, supposedly. That's what I don't get. So far it seems obvious which one I'm going to.
I do know you're busy, so thanks for the above reply. Now get ready to watch THE race!!
