I would love to see Van Halen, with either singer (Gary Cherone doesnt count). Everyone in that group is a talented musician. Besides, who really wants to see Diamond Dave still doing high kicks? Not me

I thought Dave had one or more replacement hip joints - wouldn't guess he would be doing too many kicks.
Gary Cherone - that poor guys name has become synonymous with big flops.
Van Halen without David, No way! Sammy Hagar was ok doin his own thing, but didn't like him with VH. It all sounded like the same song over and over. David Lee Roth was too cool.
Yeah , I am still waiting for the Van Halen reunion myself. This ain't it. I like Eddie and all, but he is turning into a real dick. He was better off when he just played guitar and didn't open his mouth. His ego is stopping the real Van Halen reunion from happening. Sure Dave is a loud mouth egomaniac, but he is supposed to be that way. Would you expect any less from the greatest frontman in rock history? Cut it out Eddie...
You mean Van Hagar is back together. I think Van Halen will never be again like they were orginally in the late 70's early 80's. Before Diamond Dave become so self impressed and began basing his talent on self promotionism. I had a uncle in the music business who said if you really want to meet some *buttheads* meet the van halens, too bad as they were great when they played sunsplash concert in Great bend , kansas- If my age remembers me circa 1979 - still basically nobodys at that point. Ain't fame great. Comebacks are like sequels to movies- worthless ..
I definately agree that Van Halen is nothing without DLR. Sammy Hagar is a good musician, but I don't like him in Van Halen. The songs took a whole different turn with Hagar.
Cool it gang with pushing the language here. Just because you don't trip the content filters (in some case users get around them on purpose) doesn't mean its acceptable language.
Wick246 - yup, Gary Cherone and big time flops are one and the same. But he was just the victim of one of the all-time top PR disasters in rock. He was already hired to be the new VH singer when DLR shows up with the band on the 1996 MTV Music Awards. Can you imagine the sick feeling Gary had watching that on the sofa at home? While it was only supposed to be a promotion for the Best of VH-Vol I, nobody told Diamond Dave or the fans that. After seeing DLR with the band, would anyone accept Gary Cherone? NOT!
dbrink1 - yeah, Eddie has been full of himself for awhile. Reading some of his interviews from 1997-8 during the Cherone tours, I knew right away that VHIII was going to suck when he mentioned how his 'therapist' was helping him so much. Get rid of the head shrinker and give Eddie a beer and a joint - then you're rockin'. After listening to the wan "How many say I", I wondered why nobody in the studio had the courage to tell Eddie that it stunk instead of "hey dude, that's the next Stairway to Heaven."

When DLRoth left and Sammy showed up my first thought was..."This will be crap-BUT Not true!!
Those 4 tuned into the solid virtuosos of R&R. No Others can come close to Van Hagar-
