Spark Plug Gap

What is the correct gap for a 94/95 302 truck motor? The truck is a 94, but the motor has a 95 firing order. I'm guessing it is a late 94 year model production. My Haynes says 44 thousands, but I have heard of 55 instead. Any thoughts?

Do you still have an emissions sticker under the hood? That would be what you'd go by if it is there. If not, .055" sounds right for the later model trucks. You could try both and see which one the engine runs best at as well.

i have the sticker, but it is so gunked up I cannot read it...when idling, it seems like the motor has a slight miss. if anyone has a picture of their sticker, I'd appreciate seeing it

every 302 I have worked on...my 89 mustang 5.0, And my wifes 82 302 (COMPLETELY different animals) were .044 for what thats worth

if it is .044, then what could cause my miss. It is only when idling. The plugs aren't fouled and I have replaced everything but the coil. When I get a spare 2-300 bucks I'll replace that to.

how r your plug wires, on my bronco with 5.0 there was a skip because the spark was jumping from wire to wire. try placing you wires farther apart

to test this open your hood at night, start the engine and see if you can see any sparks jumping, if not try spraying some mist of water and see if you can see anything

this was my problem

P.S. they were relativly new wires so new ones may do it
