Had the Wicked Wheel installed today, the engine has a new sound. You can actually here a different whistle from the turbo. I havn't got the chance to hook to a load yet, but I sure hope that annoying flutter is gone. thanks for all the help JL
By watching the gauge the spool up is a little quicker even with my wastegait unplugged and the acceleration feels slightly better. When I ordered mine I dieselsite.com and he was very helpful, if you contact him he can tell you if there is one for your year of truck.
Can you feel any power increase wunning unloaded?? Do you know if they make one for the 94-97 PSD?
The Wicked will fit the 94-97's, and is nearly identical to your stock wheel, so it really isn't an upgrade for the early trucks, more like a stock replacement.
I hear ya cowboy. I got mine in this week, getting it installed Monday. I hope it gets rid of mine also.. How do you unplug your wastegate and what effect does it have on performance/engine??
spitball- To unplug your wastegate, just unplug the red line (hard plastic line) that plugs into a canister type object on the drivers side of the turbo. This will allow the turbo to spool up much quicker and a higher boost can be achieved and acceleration is quicker. I am refering to my 2000 f-350 I quess all wastgates are located in the same area.
Does unplugging the wastegate have any harmful effects? I know that it bleeds off excess pressure so what would happen if you unplug the wastegate? I would assume the pressure would have a negative effect and blow back towards the turbo.....??

I'm interested in this also....anyone have any input into potential harmful effects? Is this something that isn't recommended unless you have a boost gauge?
And just out of curiousity, could the "annoying flutter" you guys are experiencing be from the negative backpressure with the wastegate unplugged? If this is a stupid question please forgive me. But like Chris Berman once said on an ESPN commercial.... "There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people that ask questions"
I have not heard or read of any harmful effects of unplugging this, your boost will shoot up alot quicker and you can achieve a higher boost level. My turbo made the flutter noise with it unplugged or plugged in, but since I have installed the WW the noise is gone and the new whistle from the turbo is beautiful.
