AC Help

Does anyone know what might cause my AC compressor clutch to continually cycle on and off? I mean rapidly like every 3-4 seconds-- the clutch won't stay locked up.

or bad a/c clutch cycling switch, if freon is OK. The large line coming from the top of evaporator core should be the same approximate temperature as the smaller line going into the core at the bottom (at the case). You may have to jumper the cycing switch on the accumulator bottle to keep the compressor engaged, if freon is low. If the two lines are the same temperature, the system is full and the switch may be bad. If the top line is warmer than the bottom line, it needs more freon.

Sorry, if I caused any confusion. The evaporator lines on the pre-'99 trucks are located in the front of the case and the '99 and up are on the top. Did not know what truck you had. The reference to the line size is still the same. Larger one is at the rear and the smaller one in the front on the newer models.
