Well, my serpentine belt just fell off. The pulley on the ps pump is wobbling around. Could a bad pulley bearing cause my issues and can I replace just the pulley?
Pulsing pedal while braking is a sign of a warped rotor.
You can try flushing the power steering system and replacing the fluid (check your manual - make sure you use the right stuff). Basically on your truck the brakes and steering get boost power from the steering pump, so it isn't uncommon for the steering wheel to be hard when trying to turn the wheel while sitting still. A fluid flush helped mine, but it will never be 100%. Just get used to rolling slightly while turning the wheel. Easier on the components that way.
The issue isn't that the wheel is just hard to turn, the power steering goes away completely when I'm trying to turn the wheel and push the brakes. It happens when is rolling, too. And the pulsing brake pedal isn't the rotor. It's different and coincides with the power steering issue
I am soon to dig into this as well. A growl and stiff power steering. I'm used to a 69 manual steering so i never really notice the roll and turn technic i was doing, But the growl?
