Opinions on a summit cam kit.

While replacing the timing chain on my 460 last night the end of the camshaft where the sprocket sits over broke off . I I guess i wll have to put a new cam in it. Summit sells a cam and lifter kit for like 89 bucks, this sound pretty good to me since I have no more money to dump int this projects. I have also never put a cam in, any tips that will help? Thanks.

The $89 cam should be ok. You should also change the valve springs and cam bearings.

I just installed one of these Summit cams into my 460. They're nice and just so you know, they're manufactured by Crane FOR Summit. Good overall powerband and pretty responsive but not too much for the street. Good luck,

SUM 3500, I have one in my 460. It runs great. It was a big improvement over the stock cam. I would recommend it.

Maybe a little. My son thinks so, but I'm not sure.

Of course he can still hear good.
