The oil level sensor on my 89 BII is leaking. How do you disconnect the wire & can you just unscrew the bolt holding the sensor to remove the sensor & install new gaskets?I do not want to have to pull the pan. Apreciate the help.
The wire is a plug-in and pulls straight out. You do not have to pull the pan to replace the gasket (approximately $4 at your friendly Ford dealer). The factory had neglected to install one in my B-II.
This is a rather simple job, but is somewhat difficult because of the location, and lack of room to work. I used one of the fit-all swivel wrenches to remove the sensor because it was the thinnest wrench I had in that size. Worked great.

Yes, I realize this thread is a bit old, but it’s relevant to our concern: the oil level sensor. Dose the wire really just plug into the sensor or would you have to splice in a new sensor?
