So how did the war protest against the Iraq war go today in your cities? With 308 U.S.cities,and 268 international cities to hold protests, was it a peaceful protest,or were their a lot of arrests?I understand there were a few rallies in Canada as well.
dont know of any arrests here, but it was rather disheartening none the less. i am just glad my brothers in arms dont have to be here to see the way some of these protesters act, although wish they were here just to be away from there. know it sounds weird, but i hope you all get my drift.
If anybody in this town would have pulled a stunt like that, there would have been a public lynching I am thinking A lot of people from here have family over there, and are very proud of the job they are doing!!
WE need more protest and more action. Our govt. doesn't represent us.You people don't understand this oligarky is playing you as paties. Getting rid of your jobs, bankrupting social security, open borders, patriot act, aministy for mexicans, gun control, etc and on and on. you sit around in complacienty watching your taxes go up and wonder why . your getting screwed and the only thing you can do is blame people that are Trying to stand up for AMERICA
Protest : if Ashcroft has his way he'll erase it from our constitution someday you might wan't to fight for your beliefs think about it . and our patriot act enhansment will say no. I for one will fight to the death for your and my beliefs READ OUR CONSTITUTION
I gotta agree with Peppy. There was a protest yesterday? Couldn't tell it by me. Maybe they're like trolls, don't feed them and they'll die of neglect.
I guess I am just thankful I live where there CAN be peaceful protests...... It means all those lives lost, all those wounded, all those lives changed forever since the inception of this country, have not been wasted.
These protests are against the war, not the soldiers, sailors, and marines fighting and dieing for this great country. The protesters are showing that they DO care for our fighting men and women's lives.
For those of you that express the "My way or no way", obviously you have no grasp on the concept of freedom......
In case you're wondering, I support what we are doing, with some reservation.
Rikfish....
Yea, your right. Protesters are protesting the war, not the soldiers............I guess from war to war we just need a program and a rooster. Never know which group of protesters are gonna spit on a soldier, or riot against the cops in the name of peace.
Peaceful protest.....cool by me.....like you said......freedom.
They protested in Fayetteville, NC. Small city that is located near fort bragg and pope afb. The only reason to protest at a millitary is to effect soldiers. Protesting in DC is very different than protesting a base where soldiers and their family live.
Most of these useful idiots do not realize that freedom has been paid for in blood and does not just fall from the sky like mana from heaven. IMHO their right to protest is fine by me, but they are scumbags.
deja vu all over again! I thought the 60's were behind us. But alas they are not, we even have a former (or present?) war protester running for the highest office in the land. I can only hope that the divisive and misguided protests don't have the same results as in the 60's. We have troops in the field that deserve our support , they are the defenders of our culture and freedom, failure is not an option!! The stakes are much higher today, our way of life.
I don't believe these protestors were showing any disrespect for our troops,or giving the impression that we don't support our troops.I have yet to hear anyone protesting the Afganistan war.It seems a lot of americans aren't convinced that we should police the world,or send our troops into a cituation where the lack of credible evidence may have dragged our country into a into a situation that would have had less concequences on our country if it would have been handeled differently. We are the ones paying the price of their freedom, and for what?An ample supply of oil?Saudi Arabia give more support to terrorism than Iraq.It may become clear why we went to Iraq instead of concentrating on Afganistan this coming Tuesday as more information comes out about the reason we chose Iraq in the first place.Keep an eye on the testimony this week about the decisions made in regards to our involvement in Iraq.
