WAR HAS NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING! Oh, Except ridding the world of Naziism, Communism, Facism, Slavery and Oppresive Monarchies. I guess war has solved somethings!--Jack
Originally posted by Fordfaggiole I don't believe these protestors were showing any disrespect for our troops,or giving the impression that we don't support our troops.I have yet to hear anyone protesting the Afganistan war.It seems a lot of americans aren't convinced that we should police the world,or send our troops into a cituation where the lack of credible evidence may have dragged our country into a into a situation that would have had less concequences on our country if it would have been handeled differently. We are the ones paying the price of their freedom, and for what?An ample supply of oil?Saudi Arabia give more support to terrorism than Iraq.It may become clear why we went to Iraq instead of concentrating on Afganistan this coming Tuesday as more information comes out about the reason we chose Iraq in the first place.Keep an eye on the testimony this week about the decisions made in regards to our involvement in Iraq.
Well the thing of it is we did not finsh one job before going to the next. Iraq was not a threat last year at this time. There was no weapons of so called mass distruction like they said. I support our troops but I don,t support the war.
When these protesters demonstrate in front of a military base (as many did on this horrendous LEFT coast) they are not protesting the government or the war: they are protesting our military. This is nothing short of sedition against our country, but more importantly, against the courageous men and women of our military. The soldiers of the armed forces deserve our utmost respect. Protesting is like spitting on the graves of those who have died during this conflict. I for one am grateful for their sacrifice, and detest anyone who does not appreciate our men and women in uniform.
For those of you that do not believe that protestors are also against the soldieers themselves, why do my friends (from The People Republik of Kalifornia) have videos of these protest where these people are spitting on our troops? MY fellow Brothers in Arms?? Is this not disrespecting our troops? The people who knowingly will give their blood to save yours? Tehre must be something I am missing here people? I guess just because I was raised on the Bayous I am ot capable of comprehending these so-called dramatic repurcussions.....I mean COME ON!
'The majority of the people that have been polled feel that the U.S. invasion of Iraq has destabilized the world rather than made it stable and more peaceful, and I think they're right," said Christine Cowser of Raleigh'
Can you believe this non-sense? Has anyone bothered to LOOK at the demographics of these polls they follow blindly? I mean, of course you are going ot get a biased opinion when you poll the inner city of Los Angelas and San Fransisco(sp?)
I can do a poll and will end up with 95% of the people saying that Bush is the best leader for the past 100 years, and that the Iraq war is just and rightous. I could do a poll where 95% of people say that man never landed on the moon people! It is all in where you take the poll. I can guarantee to you that Iraq is better off now than it has been since the late 70s, and what y'all may think looks unstable and unpeacefull in the world, has always been there, now you just know where it is and who is doing it. And this is the only way to root out the problems.
Oh well......I cant believe some of the stuff that people say and believe.

Agreed.
Bad thing is that most o the protesters took their issue from the morning's talking point from that Kennedy lush...then again, since most of them don't have jobs anyway, they wouldn't know that more and more fo their wages and jobs are disappearing to begin with.
Last time I checked, Johhny Ash doesn't hold legislative powers. I think Congress and the Judiciary both do that now. If you don't like the Patriot Act (haven't lost rights, but didn't like being frisked at airport 2 years ago, but "profiling" ain't allowed), you're reelecting the wrong morons into office.
But yes, the dips on Cap Hilll all forgot that they WORK FOR US (we pay their salaries, of course!!!) and not the other way around.
My town had about 500 people at a rally to support the troops and collect care packages to be sent to Iraq.
As far as protestors, I saw 2 sorry looking losers out in front of City Hall with signs - 2 days after the anniversary. I guess they were a little confused about the date. They looked quite dejected since no one wanted to join their "rally". Man I love this town!
The protests in our near by city were mostly counter productive, most of them turned into riots. Good job guys, nothing proves your point of not going to war like destruction..
Most protests occured after the war had started, and in my mind there was no need for that, the war is on so now it's time to support the troups.
