That does sound like a good idea, but it seemed as though the studs were already partially snapped before I put any pressure to them. It didn't take any force what so ever to snap the studs off. If you were successful using a back-up wrench on the stud, to remove the nut only, I fear that the stud would break when you were tourqing them down on the new headers.

68 351 bronc, yes the sound did change quite a bit. When outside the truck it sounds really deep and throaty. When in the cab the sound is little less inspiring; it sounds like my old 258 ci jeep straight six with a manifold leak.

10 pipes, My truck is a 2001. Thorley has included an EGR bung, supposedly in the stock location. My truck does not have EGR. Thorley included a plug, which I used to close the opening off.

The headers did not come with new bolts? Borlas come with Stage 8 locking bolts. Remove the passenger side fender well liner to gain access to the engine. The drivers side is OK as long as you remove the intake system.

Yes, the headers came with new bolts, but i was addressing the the problem of the studs breaking off during removal.

I was going to remove the fender liner, but my buddy convinced me that it wasn't necessary. In hindsight, it might have made an easier install, but would have added more time to the project.

With a cordless drill and the right sockets I can have the fender liner out in 5 minutes. It does open up access to the whole right side of the engine.

So how you like them so far? Have you put a wrench on any of the bolts yet to see if they've loosened up any? (Mine did a little)

I am kinda new to this forum...I was just wondering if Thorley was the only header option for the V10 and if anybody new how the competitors compared. I have a 2000 SD V10 manual transmission. Thanks for all your help
