Anyway AL my F-250 ( he came with a name when I got him) has developed a bit of a surging problem at idle after he warms up. He dosn't do it all the time but he does do it. What could be the problem? Can any body help me with this?
ok, easy one....
go to your local dealership, or autoparts hut... pick up an "IAC" gasket, and an "EGR" gasket.
pull them both off the truck, clean em with brake cleaner, or carb cleaner, and a small screwdriver, being careful not to damage the rubber diaphram in the egr valve. test the diaphram by suckin on the vacuum nipple (kinda dirty soundin)...replace if it does not move the valve.....
put back on, surging gone.
now, to identify them, the egr will be the rusty thing bolted to the intake...easy to spot, everyhting else is aluminum.
the IAC is a small can lookin thing bolted near the throttle body.
both will have an electrical connector on them....
