the money is worth the extra beefy hangars! i will never have to worry about them bending or snapping. whereas using stock hangars and cutting them will only weaken them!
Well it's not a lot of money so not a huge issue, but what I'm thinking is with Sky's hangars you can only have the shackle so low before you're getting your hangar below the frame. The Ford hangars actually hang down below the frame to begin with. I'm just thinking it would give me opportunity to get more lift out of it if I wanted. Depending on how it all looks when I get the tires I may drop both hangars down a bit to get more lift without having to change springs.
just remember you can only do so much lift on that one bracket until you have to start dropping your front brackets (which could possibly give you another 2-3 inches or so). your tires will start to scrub on the fender when flexing out if you drop the rear bracket too far and don't drop the front one
Usually I tease people for spending money on a shackle flip when it can be done so easy for free, but I think in this case I'd spend the money on Sky's Ivan. They are good quality and I shudder at the thought of you trying to get the ones of at the junkers with only hand tools...holy major pita!

Tell me about it! We'll see what happens. If it's too much hassle I may just buy them but I was thinking of dropping the front hangar 2-3" lower as well and just adding a box below the frame to support it.
one thing you will be surprised with is you can go to your local ford dealer and get a set of front rear spring hangers for pretty cheap. jsut get em for a 80-97 4x4.
also if i ever do a shackle flip, im gonna buy new shackles from ford. the stock shackles were made to run in tension, not compression and ive seen some with bent ears showing this. a good upgrade is a shackle from the f-350 cab and chassis, f-450 or 550. they are made from 1/4 inch steel and much beefier. and they are pretty cheap new. i think you can get two shackles and the hangers for less than the price of the sky kit
just takes a little more work since you gotta find the right mounting point and drill new holes.
Thanks for the info Ho, I'll check into that before I spend a day beating my head against a wall trying to get those damn hangars off. It'll take a little fiddling trying to figure out where I'm putting everything but I don't think it will be that bad.
I looked at Pro's gallery again and that's exactly what I was thinking of doing, only a lot bigger! I want to build a support below the frame for the lower half of the front hangar and then move it down, maybe so the top bolts will be where the old bottoms were and the bottoms will move down to my new support. Or maybe I'll grow a set of ***** and break out the sawzall.
My shackles and springs are from an F-350. There are several ways to drop the front hangers, but I'd say my way is one of the strongest. Besides the reinforcment you see in the pictures, it all ties into the front crossmember. The rear drop can hang with basically a box (although, those boxes are braced to the top roll bar also) but the front needs major reinforcment to live with harsh duty. I still need to through on some mad max spikes on the front there
