my 1989 ford f150 died as I pulled into my driveway thinking that i ran out of gass put some in cranked nothing .checked for spark at the plug nothing checked at coil nothing tested for power to coil looked good .bad coil .replaced no spark. any sugestions ?
One of the most common problems is a bad TFI module on the side of the distributor. It is the brains behind the ignition system.
First I would remove the distributor cap and crank the engine to check and make sure the rotor is turning. If it is then the problem is likely the TFI module or possibly the pickup coil in the distributor. There are other things that can cause it but those are the likely ones.
