Question Idleing too fast-Idle Air Control problem

Hi all,
I am working on my too-fast-idle problem on my 92 f150 5.0L E4OD. I have been idling about 1500 rpm for many months now and i am trying to cure it. I put in a new TPS and calabrated it like the manuel says, it didn't fix the problem. I still idle at about 1400 rpm. I looked into the Idle air control today. I am getting 11.95 vdc on the pcm side of the wire connector and 9.3 Ohms on the sensor side. This seems to be out of spec acorrding to Haynes. I expected 10.5 vdc and 11 ohms. I cleaned the valve with carb cleaner. it seemed free but i cleaned it anyway. the plunger would not come out but moved free. I am checking my Intake air temp sensor right now. hot i have 3.5K ohms, am waiting for it to cool, but seems ok right now. I had 4.6 vdc on the connector.
can you guys give me any help on what to check or change next? Is the IAC shot??? Can i do anything to it to fix it??? I unplugged it and it will idle at 1100 as soon as i start it, but after a few minutes it goes to 1400 and stays there.
thanks guys for your help.
mike

Have you tried pulling the codes? I'd also check for vacuum leaks.

I assume the idle screw is all the way in (sorry, have to ask). If so, then check to see if the cable is binding. However, it sounds like a serious vacuum leak to me. Have you put a vacuum guage on it? Check that, then lightly spray some carb cleaner around vacuum lines and intake ports, etc. You'll hear a change in idle speed if it hits a leak.

thanks much

Thanks all.
I checked for a leak earlier and didn't find anything. No change in idle. I just found the PCV valve last night, I will do a very through leak check this weekend. Do my parameters for the IAC sound ok????
hope the valve is still ok.
thanks

I think the IAC valve is ok. You can unplug it, and if the truck idles normally, then you might consider replacing it.

Check your throttle position sensor. That is what was wrong with my son's F-150 5.8. Haynes manual will walk you through it using a VOM.
