I'm looking to upgrade the sound in my stereo/DVD system that came with my 2004 LTD Excursion. I have the following electronic equipment from a 1980's vintage car that I had pulled out and have kept stored in the attic for the past 12 yrs. I do not have any speakers and need some good advice on speakers and whether or not I should keep the HU.
Equipment I have now:
ADS Powerplate 80 (to power the subs)
Alpine Subwoofers
Nakamichi PA350 35W x 4
2 ADS 315i Passive Crossovers.
Any recommendations for speakers and a possible head unit would be great. Looking to spend maybe $800 - $1200 or so.
when doing a full upgrade on a sound system-the best place to start with is selecting a new aftermarket head unit that will have the features u like and capability to control the system you want
when you start adding amps\eqs\dsp\crossovers etc...
you will still be directly limited to output quality and function of your headunit--which in the case of stock--is very low quality
I'm thinking of going with a pair of Dynaudio 240GT's for my front speakers for now. What would be a good Class A amplifier to run these with? Also, what would you recommend as a great crossover?
