G.E.M. Module causing electronics problems
Has anyone heard of a T.S.B. for replacing G.E.M. modules? I've just been to my dealer where they were looking at a several problems with my 99 crew cab 4x4 4R100 auto. Problems included 4 low not engaging/disengaging, truck slipping into neutral when parked and then rolling back, hubs not disengaging. The dealer says the G.E.M. module plays a part in many electronic functions including each of my trucks problems. Apparently they also control remote keyless entry, lights, etc. FORD has recomended replacing these modules and my dealer has said they are replacing several every month on the superdutys. Sounds like its a pretty big problem with a pretty important piece of electronics. On the bright side they are going to take care of the rust thats forming on the inside bottom of all my doors.
