Fenders, if you have the clips from mid fifty for upholstered panels then I think they are the same ones the JagRed54 is talking about. If so maybe all you need to do is elongate the holes in the panel so that the clip hits the center of the holes in the door. That way you dont have to take a chance on screwing up your panel.

No Chuck, they work exactly as you decribed and no other way without getting out a drill and re-inventing the whole thing. Mrs. Fenders just fixed the panels. 30 clips installed and I don't see any blemishes from the front side. She's a good girl and a lot better on the Martha stuff. I should have them on tomorrow. I can taste the first "real" trip in the truck. A little less drive a few miles and work out more bugs. Getting very close. Visors, radio and re-do the back on my million dollar seat and the interior is close enough for now. I should be able to get in or out of the truck from either door soon too. That would be handy.
