Now see there you go getting started on the mustang thing.. I left that on alone on purpose...

Personally I am not the owner ( I can only dream) but when I want to get a little groove on I have access to a little red car with a little black stallion on the hood.. It always fixes me up with a smile on my face. The downside is it has spoiled me on most anything else..

I think they're splicing into the wire after the fuse, going into the cab to the switch, then back out to the original wire....at least this is the way I'd do it.....I think.

See what I mean about the pain in the A@$ and then you have run the wire, hide the wire and mount the switch somewhere... Now as retentive as I am it would be a pain because it would have to look perfectly stock..

Once upon a life I was an audio installer and while the technical work and process is simple.. If is to look right it means doing some custom work... Just not my bag much anymore..

He posted a picture of it, and there were wires coming right out the top of the fuse box. I can't remember who actually did that, otherwise we could just ask him.

Getting back to your original question, I have a Gibson catback system on my Expy and it's definately quieter then the Flowmaster. It has a nice rumble to it but if you're looking for something really meaty then this isn't it. Installation was simple as long as you have a "saw-zall" to get the old one out. I'd say about an hour and a half.

allanhilliard, thanks for the response!

That is exactly the kind of info I needed to know on the exhaust system. I have heard several Flowmaster systems on a variety of vehicles. Sometimes they sound great and other times they sounded terrible. I just did not want to buy a system without hearing one ya know... I think I will research the Gibson products since I really don't want a ton of sound just a mellow deep tone..

Did you notice any change in performance or drivability feel etc? The reason I ask is that the first thing I noticed when I drove the Expy was that it felt chocked off in the exhaust.. Could feel it in the gas pedal..

Oh no, he's right. It's just a slow 6500 pig. You'd be surprised just how well having 4WD engaged helps the launch, I don't spin the tires! I have been beaten by a Mustang he's boosted to 19psi and completely toasted me! But for your average non modified stanger I jump two lengths out of the gate and pretty much stay there. It's quite a surprise to many individuals.

Do I have a fast truck? Not really, I've learned no matter how bad you are there is always someone badder.
