Hey fello Ford owners, thanks for the feedback on my other questoin, I hate to beat a dead horse but has anybody tried the Jack-It 2 1/2" lift for SD's? It comes with 2 spring packs instead of spring relocating brackets. Just wondering if and how much worse the ride gets with this lift. Manufacturer says not rougher but he may just want to make a sale, any and all help appreiciated, Thanks.

Is this the add-a-leaf, it also has sort of a mini spring pack. Sources say the add-a-leaf WILL make the truck ride rougher. Look at the Fab-tech 3.5" link/level. It has new front relocation brackets(the whole bracket) and 2" blocks to add in the back. About $350.

This is just my personal experience with this kit, and my first with the company, but easily the WORST mod I have made so far. The ride is now horrid, and I have been chasing squeaks from the day I installed them. Even the rear spring packs now squeak with the add-a-leaf that came with the kit. I don't know if the coating on the spring is inferior to other manufacturers or what, but I have yet to be able to cure the noises. I have read with much anticipation every thread about spring/bushing noise on this board, and nothing has cured the problem EXCEPT the day I took the packs out of the front just to see. Since gas prices are currently keeping my pocket book thin, I am spraying the spring packs with lube every morning until I can afford a decent leveling kit, probably one that just relocates the factory springs. I have called Jack-It at least 20 times to complain, and they gave me some $$ back but insist this is an isolated incident...

Thanks everybody for responding to my questions, this web site kicks butt, I will call Fab-Tech to see if they have a kit ready for the 2001 SD's yet, I heard that Ford changed the spring mounts again from the 2000's. I don't want it to ride rougher or sqeak, they ride good for the GVW they can haul, Thanks.
