I am trying to troubleshoot the cruise control on my 1993 F250 7.3IDI. Where is that switch? Its not on the brake master cylinder, so where? Thanks.

Look under dash where pedal swings from, there is a vacuum dump mounted here. Also,Ziggy has a page somewhere on FTE with complete troubleshooting diagnosos, very informative.
i am still diagnosing mine on a '92 since the "shop" billed me $60
to tell me that my can hade a leak 7 that was why cruise won't work.Stock vac can goes for 60$I built mine out of 48oz juice can for 15mins time.G'Luck on TrblShoot'n I would love to try my cruise since it was dead when I bought the BlueBeast!!
I'm still at it, but there appears to be a problem between the Set/resume command switch and pins 5 and 6 of the servo plug. I get no resistance at all with the switch pressed. When I check it at the switch it checks OK(I think, 646 ohms)...is the problem the contact brushes in the steering column or the switch. Anyone had experieince with this and what did you do to correct it?
Thanks in advance,
Cam
Clean em with eleltric contact spray of some kind my bud sats he cleaned a couple of CC's on f models to the beneifit that they worked, again ,Seems a lot o spilled coffees can make em malf'but this might not be your fix.Just mentioning sump'n.
Here's wishing,
Lucko' the Irish, ya & to all readers of FTE.
Wow, it works...I went into town last evening and tried it on the 4-lane and it worked!! I'll still try the contact cleaner....doesn't hurt anyway.
I knew a fellow Irishman would come through.
Smilin' here!
Basically I R&R'd the entire system. I found a bad diode in the servo and replaced it, cleaned the cable, cleaned the connections, but still got 0 ohms at pins 5 & 6 at the servoand it should've read 3000 + ohms resistance.
I then disassembled the steering column and sprayed the ring and brushes with deox-it. Control switches checked fine with the DVOM, I tried it on our winding mountain road. It doesn't engage below 35, so I didn't think it was working. There's a short stretch of 4-lane between the farm and town, so I engaged it at 55 and it held fine. I've done it each time since just to be sure all is well. It'll be nice to tow the horse trailer with cruise again as horse camping season is here again!
Here's to ye mates, I just toasted with a Guinness in celebration of St. Patty's Day.
Rodeo days are happening soon, go and support the Cowboys folks!
