Newbie: How do remove radiator mounts

Hi there. 1991 7.3. I am R&R the radiator and cant remove the mounts that go through the radiator and condenser that hold the Trans cooler in place. Little plastic washer type things. Afraid to pull to hard and cause damage to cooing fins. Any tricks out there?

Also, general advice for upkeep of this truck appreciated. Decent mech background, first diesel.
214,000 miles and purrs like a kitten. Not a rattle in it. What about problem areas, fuel and coolant additives, etc, etc.? General maintenance tips of this engine.

Problem solved. Cut them off and will get new ones in a.m. Thanks.

Inportant to reasearch coolant additives on this truck do search for SCA's. If your in cold wheather a core heater makes a huge difference in the winter, i think it really saves alot of wear and tear on the engine. Be sure and use Rotella or some soot controlling oils. Some of the senior users use synthetic oils, about 23.00 a gallon or more, but I am nervious about useing synthetic on a engine with so much time on regular oil. i don't know if it is true but i have heard of problems with switching. Be sure and carry a extra fuel seperator at all times with you,if the thing gets a bach of bad fuel, it will shut her down pretty quick. One other thing to keep in mind is that they use oil alot more than a gasser so check the oil more often.
