Has anyone who has used a truck avenger verify that they are worth the money? Everyone I know who has any exp with em, say that they either have stumble off idle or they bog. And no matter the amount of tuning can fix em, its either a stumble or a bog. If someone can tell how they fixed it or that they even had that problem I would like to hear about it. Thanx
I don't know, I have been reading about the eldebrock carbs and the mods needed to make them offroadable. Springloaded needle and seats, lower float adjutment and vacume hose filling the space between the fuel bowl crossover. I can pick one up at shucks for around 223.50, so I might try that. Let you all know if it works out for me. I should call Demon and see how there 625 roaad demon jr works offroad, but they look like a slicked up Holley so I'm not holding my breath.Thanx

I did do the offroad mods to my #1406 that you mentioned above (minus the hose filling space idea). From personal experience, my carb has run great up/down hills at rather steep grades. I do not usually make a point to drive on sidehills so do not have any experience with that. I do feel confident that I would not have any problems.
The new Demon Road Trucker is available. I have no experience with it, but from past research on the Demon Road carbs, this is the one to beat. The cost is about $400.00 +/-
Yeah I heard demon has a new truck carb, worth looking at. I've bought a few bopoks on holleys since I started this thread and I have leraned alot! I'm currently using a Holley 4412 500cfm 2V. centerhung float, notched with jet extensions, extended vent and a off-road needle and seat. With the one float bowl to have trouble with I've been realy impressed with what I can do with this carb. I guese I have to admit that most my problems with Holleys in the past was due to my lack of knowledge, on set-up and tuning. This carb matches the rpm range I use my engine in the most, and has awesome throttle response and low end torque. i've tried a 600cfm 4V, but for what I gain on top I seem to lose on the bottom, and I'm quicker using my low end than winding her out. If that makes sense. thanx for all the replies, I forgot about this old thread. Thanx.
